ZAPPHY – Many people here in Brazil don’t know the truth about why Miranda was chosen as the name of the band. Is that true that you named the band after a famous actor from Argentina?

Miranda - Yes, that’s true. We’ve taken the name from Osvaldo Miranda, a very elegant artist from the 60s. We also liked the sound of the name Miranda!

ZAPPHY – Tell us a little bit about your last album. I read that you tried to put more guitars in this album and that you wanted to make a different album from the last one released.

Miranda - We always want to do a different record, each time. This is the most different record we’ve done. It’s a classic pop record. It’s closer to rock, somehow it’s still dance music with a lot of cheerful songs.

ZAPPHY – Miranda, right now, is really well known in the South America. What are your expectations here in Brazil? How do you think the Brazilians will react to your music?

Miranda - I think Brazil is the most difficult public to show our music to, perhaps because of the language. But I personally admire such a number of brazilian artists, and would be very pleased to enter that world. I hope brazilians’ll react to our music in a happy kind of way.

ZAPPHY – Many brazilians know nothing about Argentinean music. A lot of people here think and believe that Argentina is only about Tango! Do you think it will be a good opportunity to Argentina’s and Brazil’s music scene to get closer?

Miranda - Argentina is not only about tango, there’s all kind of genres going on, since decades ago. If I had to name a few, Luis Alberto Spinetta, Charly García, Soda Stereo, Mercedes sosa, etc. I think its a very good opportunity, specially for us.

ZAPPHY – What about the brazilian music? What do you know and like from the Brazilian music?

Miranda - Here we DO listen a lot of brazilian music, Caetano Veloso, Rita Lee, Sepultura...I love brazil.

ZAPPHY – Will Miranda come to Brazil? When do you think the Brazilians will have an opportunity to see you guys playing live here?

Miranda - I hope very soon we´ll be there. It would be a dream coming true.
